Move & Learn Community Coach

Part-Time (26 hours per week)

Salary: £17,680 Pro Rata

Watford FC’s Community Sports and Education Trust (registered charity no: 1102239) is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and committed individual to this 25 hours per week, part time role. This position presents an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our team, based at Watford FC Stadium, Vicarage Road. 

The Move & Learn Community Coach will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of the Trust’s Move & Learn school programme, as well as delivery on other Trust programmes (After School Clubs, PL Primary Stars, Holiday Courses and Player Development Centres). 

The Officer will work closely with the School Sport Manager and Sport and Education Project Officers on the development and delivery of the Move & Learn programme in Hertfordshire and Harrow. The role involves providing high quality practical PE sessions for children, as well as engaging and educational classroom lessons around the important of health, nutrition and hydration. 

The post holder will also be expected to complete admin tasks related to the Move & Learn programme including, recruiting schools, generating school service level agreements, creating impact examples and inputting data on views. 

The ideal candidate will have: 

· At least two years’ experience of working with children and young people of all abilities in a school environment. 

· Experience of delivering education and engaging classroom content in a primary school. 

· Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football and preferably qualifications in other sports. 

· Working towards achieving or has completed the Level 3 Certificate in Supporting the Delivery of Physical Education and School Sport award (AFPE). 

· Knowledge of the PE national curriculum. 

· Knowledge around healthy living and how to deliver these message to primary school children. 

· Proficient IT skills. 

· Good organisational and problem-solving skills. 

· A full and valid UK Driving Licence, as well as access to a vehicle for work. 

· A passion to make a difference through sport and education.

Project Officer – (Older Adults)

Part-Time (32 hours per week), Fixed Term Contract – Three Years

Salary £19,000 - £24,000 pro-rata

We are looking to recruit a part-time Project Officer, whose role will be to manage, help deliver and evaluate the Trust’s Reminiscence and Extra-Time projects.  The Reminiscence project focuses on the history and heritage of the football club to engage and support fans living with dementia or memory loss, and their carers.  The Extra-Time project is for people aged 55 years and over and aims to reduce social isolation and loneliness, by providing a service which promotes participants social, physical and emotional wellbeing.  The Officer will network with local and regional health services in the public, and voluntary sectors, as well as working with dementia specialists and partner organisations involved in these projects.  In addition, the successful person will support the Trusts wider community activities and events.

Project Officer – National Citizen Service (NCS)

(Salary £18,000 - £24,000)

Fixed Term Contract – Three Years

Closing Date: Friday 12th April 2019         Interview Date: Thursday 25th April 2019

This role will primarily be responsible for the day-to-day running and delivery of the programme. The Officer will work closely with the National Citizen Service (NCS) Project Officer and Project Manager to develop strong and meaningful relationships with a range of stakeholders including schools and young people in order to deliver positive outcomes for participants.  

The successful person will also work closely with Trust staff on developing and running new projects, activities and events, as and when appropriate.  The Officer will be expected to contribute to the further development of the Trust’s work, whilst ensuring the quality and professionalism which is synonymous with the Trust.

Sessional Coach

Do you want to make a positive difference to young peoples’ lives?  Do you want to play a vital part in an ever growing organisation coaching a range of football-based sessions to a variety of audiences?

Watford FC’s Community Sports and Education Trust deliver over 200 hours of coaching sessions and community activity across a wide range of educational, fun and engaging sport based programmes per week and we are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic, creative and committed football coaches to join our team to help support this delivery across Hertfordshire and Harrow. 

The types of football sessions include:

• Curriculum and after school sessions

• Holiday course and matchday events

• Girls and women’s specific projects 

• Disability multi-sports activities

The ideal candidate will have:

• FA Level 1 (or above) in Football Coaching

• FA Safeguarding 

• FA First Aid

This is a zero hour contract role, most of our coaches initially start with between 6 - 10 hours of coaching per week, depending on qualifications, experience and performance this can very quickly increase to 10 - 15 hours per week and so on. Some of our current sessional coaches deliver 20 - 30 hours per week across various programmes. 

Applicants will need have a flexible approach to work, with evening and weekend projects a possibility. This position is for a casual worker, with hours varying according to assignments.
