Mental Health Project Facilitator 

Where: Hemel Hempstead, Watford

Salary dependent on experience 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

Essential;

  • A sound knowledge of the common mental health issues and their link with physical activity
  • Experience of working with children or young people with functional mental health problems.
  • An ability to engage, motivate, inspire and mentor people towards achieving their goals
  • Demonstrable ability to understand and explain the links between physical activity and mental health
  • Experience and success in building relationships and working collaboratively with a range of partners.
  • Current Emergency Aid qualification.
  • Proficient IT skills – proven experience of using Microsoft office including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and database programmes.
  • A full and valid UK Driving License as well as access to a vehicle.
  • Hold a current, or willing to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check with the Trust.

Lead Coach (Weight Management Programme)

£45 per session

 
Watford FC’s Community Sports and Education Trust (registered charity no: 1102239) is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and committed individual to this Sessional role. This post presents an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our team. The Community Trust are running this programme, in conjunction with Herts County Council
 
The key responsibility of the role will be Group Lead of a weekly 1.5 hour session delivering a Weight Management Programme to adult males 18- 65 years of age (25 per group). The main responsibilities of the role are to deliver a weekly educational healthy lifestyle presentation followed by a physical activity session. The programme will consist of 12 weekly sessions and will be running throughout the year.

The ideal candidate will have:
 
• Have experience of working with adults in either a sports or healthy lifestyle context.
• Experience of managing/ leading a programme and delivering, alongside an additional worker.
• Hold a qualification in preferably an active sport and nutrition
• Hold at least REPS level 3 personal trainer qualification.
• Excellent communication and inter personal skills
• Ability to motivate and facilitate weight reduction in adult males
• A passion to make a difference through sport and education.
• A full and valid UK driving licence.

Assistant Coach (Weight Management Programme)

£30 per session

Watford FC’s Community Sports and Education Trust (registered charity no: 1102239) is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and committed individual to this Sessional role.

The key responsibility of the role will be to assist the running of each session delivering a Weight Management Programme to adult males 18- 65 years of age (25 per group). The weekly programme includes a 30 minute lifestyle education session followed by a 60 minute physical exercise session. The programme will consist of 12 weekly sessions, running over the course of the next 12months.

Courses run across Hertfordshire.
 
The Main candidate responsibilities include:
 
• Setting up session equipment and making sure venue is fit for purpose
• Running physical activity sessions (with support) and taking charge of group exercise activities and games.
• Assisting the lead coach with the general running of each session and participant support.
 
The ideal candidate will:
 
• Have a passion for sport and health and fitness
• Have a level 2 fitness instructor qualification 
• Be enthusiastic, punctual, reliable and confident in a group environment
• Excellent communication and inter personal skills
• A full and valid UK driving licence.

 

NCS Team Leader

If you enjoy creating a positive impact in the lives of young people, then the Team Leader role is for you.
 
As a Team Leader you will be responsible for leading a team of up to 15 young people on the National Citizen Service (NCS) programme, supported by a Team Assistant. Leading by example is an essential part of being a Team Leader, showcasing the attitude and spirit that is needed to tackle the challenges that face participants in the programme and in life.
 
You must be enthusiastic in relating to young people and encouraging full participation in the programme. Your Team Assistant will assist you in overseeing and ensuring each individual young person have a fantastic experience on the programme.

NCS Team Assistant 

Passionate about working as part of a team, and learning new skills? Then the Team Assistant role is for you.
 
Team Assistants are vital members of the seasonal staff team, supporting Team Leaders by providing pastoral care to each of the individual young people within a team. Each team are usually made up of up to 15 young people.
 
You will support the Team Leader in running fun activities, ice-breakers, and guided reflection sessions, whilst ensuring that each young person is safe and getting as much as they can out of National Citizens Service (NCS).


Sessional Coach

Hourly sessional rate (variable)

Watford FC’s Community Sports and Education Trust are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed coaches to join our team and help support and deliver an array of high quality provision across Hertfordshire and the London boroughs of Harrow and Hillingdon including curriculum and after school sessions, holiday course and matchday events, girls and women’s specific projects and disability multi-sports activities.
 
The applicants will need have a flexible approach to work, with evening and weekend projects a possibility. This position is for a casual worker, with hours varying according to assignments.
 
Qualifications and Requirements
 
• A minimum FA Level 1 in Coaching Football working towards FA Level 2 in Coaching Football (we may at times look for assistant coaches with a minimum FA Level 1 in Coaching Football)
• Any other relevant National Governing Body (NGB) sport related certificates/qualifications
• Hold a valid FA Safeguarding Children Workshop and FA Emergency First Aid certificate
• Hold a clean driving licence and have access to a vehicle
• Ability to work during the school day, evening weekends and/or school holidays
• Willingness to learn and develop coaching skills
• Good communication and leadership skills
 
Preferred Skills
 
• Knowledge of planning and delivering high quality sessions within a safe learning environment
• Knowledge and experience to work independently and collaboratively
• Knowledge and experience of working/coaching within a school environment
• Knowledge and experience of working with grassroots level
• Knowledge and experience of working with community initiatives
• Knowledge and experience of monitoring and evaluation
