How does a Watford FC CSE Trust Player Development Centre work?
Our Player Development Centres are designed to offer additional training for ‘advanced’ football players associated with a local grassroots football club. Our centres will provide high quality coaching to enable players to improve their skills & techniques and their knowledge & understanding of the game. All coaches are minimum FA Level 2 qualified with vital qualifications in first aid and safeguarding. Our centres also provide players with the opportunity to train & play alongside other talented individuals which will only benefit their development further.
Typically, our player development centres run for 30 weeks across the season (September – June) excluding school holidays & any bank holiday dates. Sessions run for an hour once a week with all players & coaches following our player development centre syllabus with a different topic / focus each week. Players will also receive two reports across the season (December & June) to provide both parents & players with information of how they are progressing. Players will remain with us for a whole season and players will be invited back for the following season if the coaches feel they are progressing and are of a PDC level.
This will take place outside on astro turf, so all children must wear warm & waterproof clothing, shin pads and either moulded football boots or metal stud football boots. Samuel Ryder Academy have a very strict policy of NO flat trainers or flat astro turf trainers to be worn on the astro. All children must bring plenty of water.
Participants will be coached by Watford FC CSE Trust coaches who are:
First Aid Qualified
Attended a F.A Safeguarding Children Workshop
